In partnership with the Association of Biblical Counselors (ABC), we offer biblical counseling training, with national certification available at both LEVEL ONE and LEVEL TWO. In addition to providing what you need to meet the requirements for certification through ABC, we offer additional training and practical application of the materials in order to help each student feel confident and competent to care well for the souls of others.
Biblical Counseling Certification Training

In addition to providing what you need to meet the requirements for certification through ABC, we offer additional training and practical application of the materials in order to help each student feel confident and competent to care well for the souls of others.
Biblical Counseling Certification Training
Learn from experienced and certified biblical trainers associated with ABC who have ministered in a variety of settings. Our years of counseling, consulting and training experience ensure that our students are fully and practically equipped for ministry.
For level one and level two certification, we offer both in-person and online classes. Be part of a small cohort that will provide personal interaction, collaboration and relationship development as you learn and grow together.
The certification track provides all of the training, assessments, materials, and collaboration necessary to become a Level One Certified Biblical Counselor through the Association of Biblical Counselors. To become a certified biblical counselor, the student will be responsible to complete and submit all necessary assignments and assessments. Maintaining certification requires annual renewal of ABC membership.

Upon successful completion of all assignments and criteria, Restored Soul Care will submit the student’s work to ABC for certification.
*ABC application ($25) and ABC membership ($99 annually) are not included, and both are required for certification.

Level one certification
The ABC level two certification phase is highly experiential and requires a minimum number of face-to‐face counseling hours with oversight by an approved ABC Training Leader. Counselors-In-Training (CITs) are required to secure an approved Training Leader who can actively observe their counseling sessions as well as model biblical counseling ministry. Restored is approved for helping students complete their requirements in an on-line format for teaching, case consulting, and supervision.

- Develop basic practical skills in the personal ministry of God’s Word with people. These basic skills include careful listening, helping people open up; conveying compassion, grace, and mercy,; and guiding constructive ministry conversations.
- Develop advanced skills which include responding patiently to difficult ministry conversations, discerning counseling problems from within a biblical worldview, helping people understand and apply the gospel of Jesus Christ in daily life, and more.
- Grow in Christian maturity as a minister of the gospel. That is, learn to be humble, repentant, and dependent upon the Holy Spirit in heart and life while ministering to others.
- Broaden general knowledge of Scripture as it relates to life and common struggles while also broadening strategic and careful application of Scripture to people’s specific situations and heart struggles.
- Learn how to depend on the Word of God and the Holy Spirit during the process of change.
Level TWO certification
Objectives
- Reading: Biblical Counseling Basics: Roots, Beliefs, and Future
- Exams: Counseling and Theology Exam
- Supervision: 100 hours of counseling divided into 20 hours observing, 20 hours being observed, 60 hours of solo counseling. Process will include regular case study review, counseling journals, and assessments.
- Continuing Education: 12 hours of reading or training in the area of biblical counseling.
- Estimated Commitment: 7+ hours a week.
- Time frame: 10 months of class and supervision with an additional two months to complete supervised hours. (ABC permits an additional one year to complete hours from the point of registration.)

Enrichment training is for those with the desire to come alongside others in a focused soul care relationship. You will receive all of the content and classroom collaboration offered to certification students, along with a Certificate of Completion from Restored Soul Care. Our training helps prepare ministry leaders and interested followers of Jesus to biblically disciple and counsel.
